Writing Ideas Using Mentor Texts

The following are ideas I've gathered/created for using mentor texts to promote fun and exciting student writing. This wiki holds directions to help me remember the steps I've taken in teaching the lessons and allows me to access these ideas from any computer (I love wikis for this reason!).

Books I have used for the ideas include:

Mentor Texts by Lynne R. Dorfman (MT)
Non Fiction Mentor Texts by Lynne R. Dorfman (NFMT)
Teaching the Elements of Powerful Writing Using Great Fiction and Nonfiction Models by Jane Sullivan and Midge Madden.
